Shur-Fast Fasteners Inc. manufactures collated nails, precision quality bulk nails and industrial staples for use in pneumatic and electric tools. Over three hundred types of fasteners are produced at the Montreal location. Some of the products include 15° wire welded nails, 21° plastic strip nails, plastic coil nails (similar to Duo-Fast) as well a wide variety of staples ranging from fine wire to heavy construction gauge. These products are used primarily in wood to wood fastening applications.

Distributor of Max, Behrens and Grex tools, Shur-Fast offers a variety of tools for specific customer applications. The quality of these tools is exceptional. Max and Behrens are industry leader in terms of reliability and tool performance. Grex offers a wide range of tools at a more economical price.

The fasteners manufactured by Shur-Fast are produced to very specific product tolerances to ensure customer satisfaction and excellent performance in the tools for which they are designed.

When specific industry approval is required such as for the Canadian pallet industry, Shur-Fast ensures that all standards are met as with the Canadian Pallet Council (CPC).

All of the fasteners produced are compatible with most reputable brands of tools including Max, Duo-Fast, Senco, Bostitch, Paslode and Hitachi. The company counts on a network of distributors to serve their clientele in Canada and the United States. The major industries served include on site construction, prefabricated homes, pallets, fences and crating.

History:

Shur-Fast was founded in August 1999 as Jim Johnson and Angelo Michetti purchased the company from Duo-Fast Corporation of Huntley, Ill. The corporate name was changed from Duo-Fast Industries Canada Inc., which it had operated under since August 1994. Prior to 1994 business was conducted as Signode Fasteners, a division of ITW Canada Inc.

Since the beginning, the company's mission was to produce high quality products at a competitive price. Shur-Fast operates from a 60,000 square foot building located at 6785, St-Jacques Street West in Montreal. The company has grown over the years and with its current and future product line of tools and fasteners, continued expansion will be the ongoing goal.
